न प्रहृष्येत्प्रियं प्राप्य नोद्विजेत्प्राप्य चाप्रियम् ।स्थिरबुद्धिरसम्मूढो ब्रह्मविद्ब्रह्मणि स्थितः ॥
na prahṛṣyetpriyaṃ prāpya nodvijetprāpya cāpriyam |sthirabuddhirasammūḍho brahmavidbrahmaṇi sthitaḥ ||
One who knows Brahman, steady in understanding, free from bewilderment and established in Brahman, should not rejoice on getting what is pleasant, nor be disturbed on getting what is unpleasant.
Explanation
Krishna continues describing the person who has reached the state of inner equality mentioned in the previous verse. Such a person is unmoved by pleasant or unpleasant experiences because their understanding (buddhi) is steady and they are not deluded. Brahman, the ultimate reality, is both what they know and where they dwell.
