दम्भो दर्पोऽभिमानश्च क्रोधः पारुष्यमेव च ।अज्ञानं चाभिजातस्य पार्थ सम्पदमासुरीम् ॥
dambho darpo'bhimānaśca krodhaḥ pāruṣyameva ca |ajñānaṃ cābhijātasya pārtha sampadamāsurīm ||
Hypocrisy, arrogance, conceit, anger, harshness, and ignorance too—these belong to one born to a demonic endowment, O Partha.
Explanation
Krishna has just listed the divine qualities in the previous verse. Here he names the traits of the opposite endowment (āsurī sampad): hypocrisy (dambha), arrogance (darpa), conceit (abhimāna), anger (krodha), harshness (pāruṣya), and ignorance (ajñāna), meaning a lack of true discernment about what is right and what is real. The verse is a description of tendencies, and the next verse goes on to say what each endowment leads to.
