The senses, the mind and the intellect are said to be its seat. Through these, it covers over knowledge and bewilders the embodied one.
Explanation
Krishna is continuing his answer to Arjuna about what drives people to do wrong: desire (kāma), which he has just called an insatiable enemy of the wise. Here he says desire operates from within the senses (indriya), mind (manas) and intellect (buddhi), and uses them to cloud knowledge and confuse the embodied self (dehin). Commentators differ on whether the three are literal 'seats' of desire or stages through which it spreads, but all agree that it works from within us.
