vyāmiśreṇeva vākyena buddhiṃ mohayasīva me |tadekaṃ vada niścitya yena śreyo'hamāpnuyām ||
With words that seem mixed and tangled, you seem to bewilder my mind. So tell me one thing, decided with certainty, by which I may reach the highest good.
Explanation
Arjuna is puzzled. Krishna has praised both knowledge (jñāna) and action (karma), and Arjuna feels the advice is mixed and cannot tell which path to follow. He asks for one clear answer that leads to the highest good (śreyas), meaning lasting benefit rather than passing advantage.
