Our army, protected by Bhishma, is not strong enough, while their army, protected by Bhima, is.
Explanation
Sanjaya is telling the blind king Dhritarashtra what his son Duryodhana said to Drona as he looked over the two armies. Duryodhana compares the Kaurava force under Bhishma with the Pandava force under Bhima. The key words are insufficient (aparyāpta) and sufficient (paryāpta). Traditional commentators read them in two ways: some take them as a nervous admission that his own side falls short, and others take them as confident boasting that his army is unlimited and the enemy's is limited.
