If you are unable even to do this practice, then devote yourself to working for me. Even by doing actions for my sake, you will attain perfection.
Explanation
Krishna is continuing his graded advice to Arjuna. Having just recommended steady practice (abhyāsa) in fixing the mind on him, he now offers an easier step for those who cannot manage even that: make working for him your chief concern and do your actions (karma) for his sake. This devotional action is said to lead to perfection (siddhi), meaning spiritual fulfilment. Traditions differ on whether this means worship and service to God or a way of purifying the mind for knowledge, and the verse allows both.
