अनपेक्षः शुचिर्दक्ष उदासीनो गतव्यथः ।सर्वारम्भपरित्यागी यो मद्भक्तः स मे प्रियः ॥
anapekṣaḥ śucirdakṣa udāsīno gatavyathaḥ |sarvārambhaparityāgī yo madbhaktaḥ sa me priyaḥ ||
Free of expectation, pure, skilled, impartial, untroubled, giving up every undertaking — such a devotee of mine is dear to me.
Explanation
Krishna continues describing the devotee (bhakta) dearest to him. Such a person has no craving for outcomes (anapekṣa), is inwardly and outwardly clean, is capable, stays even-minded (udāsīna) and is free from distress. "Giving up all undertakings" (sarvārambha-parityāga) is read by some traditions as renouncing selfish, goal-driven projects, and by others as giving up the sense of being the doer while still acting.
