सन्तुष्टः सततं योगी यतात्मा दृढनिश्चयः ।मय्यर्पितमनोबुद्धिर्यो मद्भक्तः स मे प्रियः ॥
santuṣṭaḥ satataṃ yogī yatātmā dṛḍhaniścayaḥ |mayyarpitamanobuddhiryo madbhaktaḥ sa me priyaḥ ||
Always content, a yogi with a disciplined self and firm resolve, with mind and intellect offered to me — such a devotee of mine is dear to me.
Explanation
Krishna continues describing the qualities of the devotee he holds dear, answering Arjuna's question at the start of the chapter about which worshippers know yoga best. Here the devotee is content (santuṣṭa) and disciplined, with a steady resolve, and has surrendered both mind (manas) and intellect (buddhi) to Krishna. The word yogi, one who is committed to spiritual discipline, is understood by some traditions as a person of devotion and by others as one of knowledge or meditation.
