Explanation
Arjuna has asked whether devotees of the personal Krishna or seekers of the formless absolute are better established in yoga (spiritual discipline). Having just praised those who focus their minds on him with faith, Krishna now describes the other path: meditation on the imperishable (akṣara), which is beyond words, form and thought. The sentence continues into the next verse, which says where this path leads. Traditions differ on how they weigh the two paths: non-dualist readings treat this as the highest knowledge, while devotional readings stress that Krishna calls it harder to follow.
