One who holds blame and praise as equal, who is sparing of speech, content with whatever comes, without a fixed home, steady in mind, and full of devotion — that person is dear to me.
Explanation
Krishna is continuing his description of the devotee (bhakta) who is dear to him, answering Arjuna's question at the start of the chapter. Such a person stays even-minded toward blame and praise, speaks little (maunī, which can also mean contemplative), and is content with whatever comes. "Without a fixed home" (aniketa) is read by some as literal homelessness or renunciation, and by others as inner non-attachment to any dwelling or possession. The list closes with being full of devotion (bhakti).
