एतन्मे संशयं कृष्ण छेत्तुमर्हस्यशेषतः ।त्वदन्यः संशयस्यास्य छेत्ता न ह्युपपद्यते ॥
etanme saṃśayaṃ kṛṣṇa chettumarhasyaśeṣataḥ |tvadanyaḥ saṃśayasyāsya chettā na hyupapadyate ||
O Krishna, please cut away this doubt of mine completely, for no one other than you can be found to dispel it.
Explanation
Arjuna has just asked what happens to someone who starts the path of yoga (disciplined spiritual practice) but fails to complete it: is that person lost, like a torn cloud, with neither worldly nor spiritual footing? Here he asks Krishna to remove this doubt (saṃśaya) entirely, saying no one else is able to do so. Krishna's answer begins in the next verse.
