For one who is moderate in eating and recreation, measured in exertion in his actions, and moderate in sleeping and waking, yoga becomes the destroyer of sorrow.
Explanation
Krishna continues his advice to Arjuna from the previous verse, which warned against extremes of eating, fasting, sleeping and staying awake. Here he gives the positive side: balance (yukta) in food, recreation, work and rest. Yoga, the discipline of steadying the mind, then ends suffering (duḥkha). Since yukta can also mean "disciplined" or "fitting", the verse is also read as calling for a regulated way of life rather than mere moderation.
