Having reached me, those great souls who have attained the highest perfection no longer take rebirth, which is a home of suffering and is impermanent.
Explanation
Krishna continues describing the steadfast yogi from the previous verse. Those who reach him are called great souls (mahātmānaḥ) who have attained the highest perfection (saṃsiddhi), and they do not return to rebirth (punarjanma), which he calls a place of suffering and impermanence. Traditions differ on the nature of this attainment, such as union with the personal God or realization of the one Self, but all read it as release from the cycle of birth and death.
