Seeing the same Lord present equally everywhere, a person does not harm the self by the self, and so reaches the highest goal.
Explanation
Krishna continues describing true vision: the one who sees the same Lord (īśvara) dwelling equally in all beings. Such a person does not injure the self by the self (ātman), and so attains the supreme goal (parā gati). Commentators differ on the "harming": some take it as the ignorance that hides one's real nature, others as the mind dragging a person down by wrong attitudes toward others, who are not truly separate.
