Among the Vrishnis I am Vasudeva, and among the Pandavas, Dhananjaya. Among sages I am Vyasa too, and among poets, the poet Ushanas.
Explanation
Krishna is describing his divine manifestations (vibhūti) to Arjuna, naming the finest example in each group. Vasudeva here is Krishna himself, Dhananjaya is Arjuna, Vyasa is the sage traditionally credited with compiling the Vedas and the Mahabharata, and Ushanas is the poet-sage Shukra. Calling himself the best of each kind shows that excellence in every realm comes from him.
