The seven great sages of old, and likewise the four Manus, were born from my mind and share my nature. From them came all these creatures in the world.
Explanation
Krishna continues describing how everything in creation has him as its source. The seven great sages (maharṣi) and the four Manus, the primal progenitors of humankind, were born from his mind and carry his nature (bhāva). Commentators differ on who the "four Manus" are, and some also read "the four" as referring to the four Kumaras; the verse's core point is the same.
