Truly, nothing in this world purifies like knowledge. One who has become perfected in yoga discovers it for oneself, in the self, in due time.
Explanation
Krishna has just compared knowledge to a fire that burns up the results of actions, and here he calls it the supreme purifier. The one "perfected in yoga" (yoga-saṃsiddha), meaning disciplined in the path of selfless action and meditation, finds this knowledge within the self (ātman) over time. Traditions differ on the "yoga" involved: some stress karma-yoga as the preparation for knowledge, others see a wider discipline of life and meditation.
