जन्म कर्म च मे दिव्यमेवं यो वेत्ति तत्त्वतः ।त्यक्त्वा देहं पुनर्जन्म नैति मामेति सोऽर्जुन ॥
janma karma ca me divyamevaṃ yo vetti tattvataḥ |tyaktvā dehaṃ punarjanma naiti māmeti so'rjuna ||
Whoever truly understands my birth and action as divine in this way, O Arjuna, does not take birth again after leaving the body. That person comes to me.
Explanation
Krishna has just said he takes birth in age after age to protect the good and restore dharma (moral and cosmic order). Here he says that truly knowing his birth and action as divine, not as ordinary or driven by karma, frees a person from rebirth (punarjanma) and leads to him. Traditions differ on what this "coming to me" means, whether union with a personal God or liberation through knowledge, and the verse itself does not settle it.
