In this way you will be freed from the bonds of action, from its good and bad fruits. With your mind steadied in the yoga of renunciation, and liberated, you will come to me.
Explanation
Krishna is speaking to Arjuna. After telling him to offer everything he does to Krishna, he says what follows from this: action no longer binds him with its good or bad results. The "yoga of renunciation" (saṃnyāsa-yoga) here means giving up ownership of the results while still acting, rather than giving up action itself. Traditions differ on emphasis: devotional readings stress surrender to Krishna, while Advaita readings stress inner renunciation and knowledge.
