पत्रं पुष्पं फलं तोयं यो मे भक्त्या प्रयच्छति ।तदहं भक्त्युपहृतमश्नामि प्रयतात्मनः ॥
patraṃ puṣpaṃ phalaṃ toyaṃ yo me bhaktyā prayacchati |tadahaṃ bhaktyupahṛtamaśnāmi prayatātmanaḥ ||
Whoever offers me with devotion a leaf, a flower, a fruit, or water, I accept that devoted offering from the one whose heart is pure.
Explanation
Krishna has just said that people reach what they worship, and now he says what he asks of those who turn to him. The offering can be as simple as a leaf or water, because what he accepts is the devotion (bhakti) behind it and the purity of heart (prayatātman) of the giver, not the value of the gift.
