पश्य मे पार्थ रूपाणि शतशोऽथ सहस्रशः ।नानाविधानि दिव्यानि नानावर्णाकृतीनि च ॥
paśya me pārtha rūpāṇi śataśo'tha sahasraśaḥ |nānāvidhāni divyāni nānāvarṇākṛtīni ca ||
Behold my forms, O Partha, by the hundreds and the thousands, of many kinds, divine, and of many colors and shapes.
Explanation
Arjuna has just asked to see Krishna's imperishable divine self (ātman), and Krishna now agrees, inviting him to look. He says the vision will hold countless divine forms, varied in color and shape, all within him. This begins the revelation of the universal form (viśvarūpa), which continues in the next verse.
