सखेति मत्वा प्रसभं यदुक्तंहे कृष्ण हे यादव हे सखेति ।अजानता महिमानं तवेदंमया प्रमादात्प्रणयेन वापि ॥
sakheti matvā prasabhaṃ yaduktaṃhe kṛṣṇa he yādava he sakheti |ajānatā mahimānaṃ tavedaṃmayā pramādātpraṇayena vāpi ||
Whatever I rashly said, thinking of you as a friend, “O Krishna! O Yadava! O friend!”, not knowing this greatness of yours, whether out of carelessness or out of affection…
Explanation
Arjuna has just seen Krishna's cosmic form and is shaken. He now regrets the casual, familiar way he used to address Krishna. He puts it down to carelessness (pramāda) or to the closeness of affection (praṇaya), because he did not know Krishna's true greatness. The sentence continues into the next verse, where he asks forgiveness.
