अनेकबाहूदरवक्त्रनेत्रंपश्यामि त्वां सर्वतोऽनन्तरूपम् ।नान्तं न मध्यं न पुनस्तवादिंपश्यामि विश्वेश्वर विश्वरूप ॥
anekabāhūdaravaktranetraṃpaśyāmi tvāṃ sarvato'nantarūpam |nāntaṃ na madhyaṃ na punastavādiṃpaśyāmi viśveśvara viśvarūpa ||
I see you on every side, with countless arms, bellies, mouths and eyes, your form without limit. I see no end to you, no middle, and no beginning either, O Lord of the universe, O one whose form is the universe.
Explanation
Arjuna, having been given divine sight, describes the cosmic form (viśvarūpa) of Krishna that he now sees. It is boundless in every direction, with no beginning, middle or end, which shows that Krishna is not limited by space or time. The address "Lord of the universe, whose form is the universe" (viśveśvara, viśvarūpa) expresses both Krishna's rule over the world and his presence as the world.
