Having spoken to Arjuna in this way, Vasudeva showed his own form once more, and the great-souled one, gentle in appearance again, comforted the frightened Arjuna.
Explanation
Sanjaya is describing to Dhritarashtra what happened after Krishna told Arjuna to stop being afraid of the terrifying cosmic form. Krishna (Vasudeva, "son of Vasudeva") shows his own form again and, gentle in appearance once more, calms the frightened Arjuna. Traditions differ on what "his own form" (svakaṃ rūpam) means: some take it as his two-armed human form, others as a four-armed form shown first, before the gentle two-armed one.
