देहिनोऽस्मिन्यथा देहे कौमारं यौवनं जरा ।तथा देहान्तरप्राप्तिर्धीरस्तत्र न मुह्यति ॥
dehino'sminyathā dehe kaumāraṃ yauvanaṃ jarā |tathā dehāntaraprāptirdhīrastatra na muhyati ||
Just as the embodied one passes through childhood, youth and old age in this body, so too does it pass on to another body. The steadfast person is not bewildered by this.
Explanation
Krishna is explaining to Arjuna why grief over death is misplaced. Just as the embodied self (dehin) moves through childhood, youth and old age without ceasing to exist, it moves into another body at death. A steadfast person (dhīra), one with a settled mind, is therefore not deluded (muhyati) by this change.
