O Keshava, what is the description of a person whose wisdom is steady, who stands firm in samadhi? How would such a steady-minded person speak, how would they sit, and how would they move?
Explanation
Arjuna has just heard Krishna say that when his mind stays steady in samadhi (deep meditative absorption), he will attain yoga. He now asks how to recognise such a person, one whose wisdom is steady (sthitaprajña), by their speech, posture and conduct. This question opens Krishna's long description of the steady-minded sage that runs through the rest of the chapter.
