One whose understanding is steady in yoga leaves behind both good and bad deeds even in this life. Therefore, devote yourself to yoga; yoga is skill in action.
Explanation
Krishna continues advising Arjuna, building on the previous verse about acting with steady understanding (buddhi-yoga) rather than for results. One who acts with this evenness is no longer bound by the results of either good (sukṛta) or bad (duṣkṛta) deeds. Krishna then defines yoga (disciplined inner steadiness) as skill in action (karmasu kauśalam). Traditions differ on whether this skill means acting without attachment to results or acting as an offering to God.
