One whose mind is not shaken by sorrows, who has no craving amid pleasures, and who is free from attachment, fear and anger, is called a sage of steady understanding.
Explanation
Krishna continues answering Arjuna's question about the person of steady wisdom (sthitaprajña). Here he describes the sage (muni), a reflective person, as someone who stays even-minded in pain and pleasure and is free from attachment (rāga), fear (bhaya) and anger (krodha). The point is inner steadiness, not coldness: external events no longer control the mind.
