na hi prapaśyāmi mamāpanudyādyacchokamucchoṣaṇamindriyāṇām |avāpya bhūmāvasapatnamṛddhamrājyaṃ surāṇāmapi cādhipatyam ||
I do not see anything that could drive away this grief of mine, which dries up my senses, even if I were to win a prosperous, unrivalled kingdom on earth, or even lordship over the gods.
Explanation
Arjuna has just asked Krishna to be his teacher. Here he explains why: his grief (śoka) is so deep that it drains his senses and strength. He says that no worldly gain, not even a rival-free kingdom or rule over the gods, would cure it.
