Valor, brilliance, steadiness, skill, not fleeing even in battle, generosity, and a lordly bearing: these are the work of a Kshatriya, born of one's own nature.
Explanation
Continuing his account of the four social roles (varṇa), Krishna lists the duties that arise from the nature (svabhāva) of a Kshatriya, the warrior and ruler class. The qualities include courage, resolve, skill, generosity and the capacity to lead. Traditional commentators read this as a birth-based class order, while many modern readers take it as describing temperament and aptitude.
