अध्येष्यते च य इमं धर्म्यं संवादमावयोः ।ज्ञानयज्ञेन तेनाहमिष्टः स्यामिति मे मतिः ॥
adhyeṣyate ca ya imaṃ dharmyaṃ saṃvādamāvayoḥ |jñānayajñena tenāhamiṣṭaḥ syāmiti me matiḥ ||
And whoever studies this sacred dialogue of ours worships me through the sacrifice of knowledge — that is my view.
Explanation
Krishna is concluding his teaching to Arjuna and speaks of the merit of those who pass the Gita on and study it. He calls the study of this dialogue, which upholds dharma (dharmya, in keeping with righteousness), a "sacrifice of knowledge" (jñāna-yajña), meaning that learning itself becomes an offering to him. Traditions differ on the emphasis: some commentators stress devotional worship, others stress knowledge as the highest form of offering.
