सहजं कर्म कौन्तेय सदोषमपि न त्यजेत् ।सर्वारम्भा हि दोषेण धूमेनाग्निरिवावृताः ॥
sahajaṃ karma kaunteya sadoṣamapi na tyajet |sarvārambhā hi doṣeṇa dhūmenāgnirivāvṛtāḥ ||
One should not abandon the work one is born with, O son of Kunti, even if it has flaws. For all undertakings are wrapped in fault, as fire is wrapped in smoke.
Explanation
Krishna continues advising Arjuna on acting according to one's own nature (svabhāva) and duty (dharma). Every action, like fire with smoke, carries some imperfection, so imperfection alone is no reason to give up one's natural work. Traditions differ on what "born with" (sahaja) means: some read it as the duty of one's birth-based class (varṇa), others as the work that suits one's inner temperament.
