Better is one's own duty, even if flawed, than another's duty well performed. By doing the work set by one's own nature, a person incurs no sin.
Explanation
Krishna is continuing his teaching on how each person's work follows their own nature, as shaped by the three qualities (guṇa). Here he says that one's own duty (svadharma) is better than someone else's duty, even when the other is done well and one's own is imperfect. Work set by one's own nature does not bring sin (kilbiṣa). Traditions differ on whether this nature is mainly set by birth or by one's inner temperament and qualities.
