With your mind fixed on me, you will cross over every difficulty by my grace. But if, out of egoism, you refuse to listen, you will be lost.
Explanation
Krishna continues his advice to Arjuna from the previous verse. He promises that a mind devoted to him will pass through all obstacles (durgāṇi) by his grace (prasāda), and warns that egoism (ahaṅkāra), the sense of "I am the doer", leads to ruin. Traditions read the warning that Arjuna "will be lost" (vinaṅkṣyasi, literally will perish) as either outright destruction or the loss of his true good.
